If you had unlimited funding for astronomy investigation, how would you use the money and why? The kind of research I do works at all different wavelengths. It includes radio astronomy, infrared astronomy, the ordinary optical astronomy, ultraviolet, x-ray, and gamma-ray. And it's important to me that all these branches of astronomy are roughly equally-funded or roughly kept at the same sort of level. So if I had money to give away, I would ensure that the different kinds of astronomy were all at much the same kind of level of sophistication and producing the same quality of results. I think that would advance astronomy the best.
