The Asteroid Gaspra

Shuttle

This picture was created by combining two images taken by the Galileo spacecraft as it flew by Gaspra on October 29, 1991. Gaspra, the 951st asteroid to be discovered (which is therefore referred to in many scientific publications as "951 Gaspra"), is located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
