1.	Arnaldo Tamayo-Mendez, a Cuban-born cosmonaut, spent eight days aboard the Soviet space station Salyut during September of 1980. He was the first black man to fly in space.	B
2.	Franklin Chang-Diaz was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. He has a doctorate in the field of applied plasma physics and fusion technology. Dr. Chang-Diaz spent ten years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Plasma Fusion Center working on technology for future human missions to Mars.	C
3.	Jean-Francois Clervoy who was born in France received some of his training in Star City, Moscow on the Soyuz and Mir systems.	J
4.	Shannon Lucid currently holds the United States single flight endurance record aboard Mir. She was born in Shanghai, China.	F
5.	Michael Collins, who was born in Rome, Italy, flew aboard both Gemini 10 and Apollo 11.	H
6.	Michael Foale's hometown is Cambridge, England. Difficulties aboard Mir forced him to leave some of his personal possessions on the space station when his mission was completed.	I
7.	Philip Chapman was born in Melbourne, Australia. He received degrees from both the University of Sydney and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.	G
8.	Koichi Wakata was born in Omiya, Satama, Japan. He was a mission specialist aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour and has logged over 214 hours in space.	E
9.	Valentina Tereshkova-Nikolaeva, a Soviet cosmonaut, was the first woman in space. She orbited the Earth a total of 48 times during her three-day mission in 1963. Her birthplace was Maslennikova, USSR.	D
10.	Mae Jemison was born in Decatur, Alabama, USA. She is a medical doctor and was the first African-American woman in space.	A
