6. Michael Foale's hometown is Cambridge, England. Difficulties aboard Mir forced him to leave some of his personal possessions on the space station when his mission was completed. I
7. Philip Chapman was born in Melbourne, Australia. He received degrees from both the University of Sydney and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. G
8. Koichi Wakata was born in Omiya, Satama, Japan. He was a mission specialist aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour and has logged over 214 hours in space. E
9. Valentina Tereshkova-Nikolaeva, a Soviet cosmonaut, was the first woman in space. She orbited the Earth a total of 48 times during her three-day mission in 1963. Her birthplace was Maslennikova, USSR. D
10. Mae Jemison was born in Decatur, Alabama, USA. She is a medical doctor and was the first African-American woman in space. A
